Shrikes & Bikes: A Colorado Grasslands Ride
Join partners from across eastern Colorado for Shrikes & Bikes, a guided gravel cycling experience celebrating Colorado’s prairie heritage, rural communities, and working lands as part of the statewide Colorado 150 commemoration.
Hosted by Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO), Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), the Eastern Colorado Grasslands Coalition, the Colorado State Land Board, Colorado Preservation, Inc. and Friends of the Genoa Tower, this event invites you to explore the World's Wonder View Tower as well as the sweeping shortgrass prairie.
Starting at 8 a.m. at the World's Wonder View Tower in Genoa, riders will travel a scenic and accessible gravel route designed for novice and experienced cyclists alike. Along the way, participants will experience agricultural landscapes, renewable energy development, native wildlife habitat, and historic landmarks that reflect Colorado’s evolving story.

Opening Weekend
Join us for the reopening of the historic World's Wonder View Tower, Colorado's beloved roadside attraction.
Come see the view from our newly-restored Tower! After a century as a treasured Historic Colorado Landmark, the World's Wonder View Tower is ready to welcome you back — and we want you here for the very first weekend.Timed entry tickets are available May 1 from 2:30-5:00 PM and May 2 from 10:00AM-4:00 PM. Lincoln County residents receive free admission — just enter your zip code in the discount code field. Reserved ticketing is required for all guests.
Inaugural Fundraiser
Join us for an evening to support the World’s Wonder View Tower!
For nearly a century, the World's Wonder View Tower has greeted travelers on the Eastern Plains with its legendary "see six states" view. Located in Genoa, Colorado, this historic landmark is undergoing restoration. With nearly $3 million already raised, your support can ensure the Tower is ready to greet travelers by its 100th birthday in 2026.

Eastern Plains Tour
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Colorado’s Most Endangered Places, Colorado Preservation Inc. is hosting a tour of the Eastern Plains, starting at the Hugo Roundhouse, followed by a tour of the World’s Wonder View Tower, and then a stop at the Bethel Community Center to see the restoration of an old rollerskating rink. An informal reception will follow in Limon at Oscar’s Bar & Grill.
Pie Social
Get a piece of the action when Friends of the Genoa Tower hosts a Pie Social at the Tower, complete with slices of pie, an auction of hand-painted ceramic pie plates, tours of the Tower and a heaping serving of fun!
